It's been a sad and hard week.
I've been going back and fourth debating on whether I should write this post or not and then I remembered that now is not the time to be quiet, it is a time to make sure that my people of color know that yes - #BlackLivesMatter to me.
I am here and that even though I can't physically join in the protest that are happening all through out the cities.
I am here for you and I feel Your Pain
George Floyd ( just one of many Black people killed through out the years) did not deserve to die, especially the way that he did. He did not deserve to become another victim just because of his skin color.
No Black mother should cry and pray every time their child walks out of their front door because they are worried that they will never see him/her again.
Black people have the right to be able to go out for a jog without being afraid.
Black people should be able to walk around with a hoodie, without being labeled a thug.
Black people should be able to walk around with a bag of skittles or comb in their hand, without being accused of walking around with an armed weapon.
Black people should be able to walk around any neighborhood that they want to, without someone assuming that they do not belong there.
Black people need to be able to live freely, without worrying about when their last breath will be.
Black people deserve and have the right to live!
Please know that I hear you and see you.
That I mourn with you and that I will fight with you.
Enough is Enough
You are not alone
Please know that this Mexican American mom is making sure that her kids grow up to embrace everyone for who they are.
To see colors, because yes we all come in different colors, but to make sure
to embrace each individual and their magic that they have to offer this world.
Because we all have magic, we all have a way of impacting the world.
And you my beautiful Black people have #BlackMagic and your lives matter to us.
I pray that all people finally understand that yes, #AllLivesMatter but right now the problem is making sure that everyone understands that #BlackLivesMatter
Now is the time for change.
I Hear You, I See You And I Respect You
Love,
Kary xoxo
