As a parent I know that Easter might be the last thing on some parents minds, especially with money being very tight if one or both parents are without a job right now. I also know that as a parent one thing that I want to make sure of is that my children's lives are as normal as possible, getting used to this new routine and being quarantined for 3 weeks now has not been easy and taking away a holiday that means a lot to both of my kids, especially the littlest one is not an option in my book.
The difference this time will be, not being able to go for a picnic in the park or to buy Easter baskets to fill with some of their favorite items.
That means coming up with fun ways to celebrate Easter while in quarantine at home it will be.
1.Easter Bingo
Grab the printer and print out these fun Easter bingo boards and cards.
Then gather up some jellybeans or whatever items you have at hand to use as placement on the boards and have a fun family game of Bingo.
2.Indoor Easter Hunt
Grab some Easter eggs and hide them all around the house. An indoor egg hunt done at home is more fun, because kids can last a good while trying to find an egg. It's the perfect way to keep them entertained. Unless, they end up finding them quickly and keep asking you to hide them over and over again. So make sure to set up some rules like eggs will be hidden three times at most and make sure to hide them good. Then get ready to get in some laughs as you watch them run around trying to find the hidden Easter eggs.
Hop
Peter Rabbit
3.Watch A Movie
Why not watch Hop or Peter Rabbit to celebrate Easter (or movie of choice is perfect)
Grab some throws and lay them on the floor, then grab some pillows and have the kids set up an area. While they fix the sitting area, make some popcorn, grab some juice boxes or water bottles, and some yummy treats. An indoor movie/picnic with the family will make for a magical movie experience.
4.Bake a yummy treat
Baking is always fun and yummy (Easter cupcake recipe coming up tonight or tomorrow).
It's a great way to do some yummy art and have fun with the kids.
I remember baking with Miguel every other weekend and all the memories we made, that now at the age of 16 he loves to talk about. Now we get to share those special baking moments with Valentina. That makes for more memorable memories.
We might not be able to spend Easter weekend outdoors but we will definitely be making memorable memories indoors and making sure to count our blessings.
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!
Love,
Kary xoxo
