It finally happened, it's still a little surreal and scary to think about everything that is going on in the world and how it is affecting millions of people everywhere.
The city that never sleeps is finally taking a nap, a short one I pray.
NYC Public schools are finally closed, in hopes of helping with social distancing and keeping kids, school staff and families safe. The first attempt to re-open will be made on April 20th.
The reality is that it's not looking so good and we might end up with the kids at home the remainder of the school year. Part of our new reality, is getting ready to homeschool our kids and do some remote learning and even though teachers will be going to school this week, to train on how remote learning will look and how they will help the families through these coming weeks, there are a lot of parents who will work from home and will need that extra screen time to the littles. With that being said we have to make sure that the extra screen time is one that will teach them something or where they can have fun while learning at the same time.
Below you will find links to some free educational resources.
Mo Willems will be hosting a livestream Doodle every week. New videos will be posted on the Mo Willems page on the Kennedy Center's website.
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is doing a live feed everyday at 3pm eastern time, where they will highlight a different animal that calls the Cincinnati Zoo home.
Today it was Fiona the Hippo and it was so much fun to watch with Vale and learn some fun facts.
If you are unable to watch the fedd live on their Facebook page, you can watch the video later on their Youtube page. Today's video can already be found there.
One thing that I can truly say is that it's beautiful to see the way that the world and people are uniting to help each other.
