I Squeezed Her Hand Lightly And Told Her I Love You...

Life is tough, my darling, but so are you.

Time really does fly after you turn a certain age, and I'm not a fan of that. Especially when it comes to seeing my babies grow up.
It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Valentina coming into this world and us being able to hold her in our arms. Then the years went by way too fast and it was time to send her to pre-k, time to send her out into the world and not having her by my side 24/7. Just like that her first year of school went by and now we are counting down the days to her first day of Kindergarten.
Yesterday, was kindergarten orientation at what will be her new school beginning this September, as she held my hand and I squeezed it lightly to reassure her that everything would be ok, I remembered holding her in my arms for the first time and my heart ached to be able to cradle her in my arms once again. As she got ready to get in line, where she would be lead to a kindergarten class to see what it will be like on the first day of school, she looked at me with big eyes and I could see that she was worried. I hugged her and whispered in her ear that I loved her, pulled her back a little bit and told her that she would have fun and I'd be waiting for her in the lunchroom to hear all about the fun that she had. She whispered back I love you mommy, and this time I could see that the fear was replaced with excitement and it made me happy. She walked away and my heart ached again but this time it was replaced with proudness. It's been amazing to watch her grow both physically and mentally this past year. She loves to read, to color and everything that she does, she does it with love and makes sure that it's just perfect. My baby is growing up into a beautiful, kind hearted soul and knows the importance of friendship and not hurting anyones feelings. The importance of loving yourself, because you are perfect just the way you are. She's also learned just how tough and strong she can be. With her kindergarten school year being affected the first few months, due to her emergency surgery.
She's taught me a lesson once in a while and reminded me how important it is to be able to move on and not dwell on certain things.
Now as we get ready to celebrate her finishing up her pre-k year, I make sure to remind her how amazing she did this first year of school and that she will continue to rock these next years to come. That we will always have her back and we will always have our support and love no matter what.
That she can do anything she sets her heart on and right now she wants to be a teacher/veteranian.

To my baby girl I say,
You my little jellybean will crush all of your dreams and make them a reality.
You will do amazing things, you will impact so many people and will be the most amazing of friends.
You are perfect the way that you are, beautiful on the inside and on the outside.
I'm already so very proud if you.
I love you dearly and will make sure to remind you everyday just how much you mean to me, to our family.
You our little jellybean will kick ass and we are so excited to be a part of your journey!

Love,
Mommy & Your Familia xoxo
